Trump’s Guilty Verdict Brings Distant Ivanka Back To Family

On May 30, 2024, Donald Trump’s hush money trial finally came to an end. The result? A guilty verdict? This decision was catastrophic, wreaking even more havoc on his steadily climbing legal issues. The conviction wasn’t all bad press, however –– it brought back the support of his daughter, Ivanka.

While it wasn’t confirmed, her absence led many to conclude that she distanced herself from his campaign and the world of politics generally, making it clear to her father that she wouldn’t be a part of his second run for POTUS.  Still, after the verdict was revealed, Ivanka publicly established her support.

Ivanka shared a sentimental image of herself as a child sitting on her dad’s lap with the caption, “I love you, Dad,” after Trump received the 34-count guilty ruling. Ivanka has since deleted the Instagram post.

Similar to the former president’s 2024 campaign, his daughter Ivanka stayed away throughout the duration of her father’s trial. The trial accused Trump of falsifying legal documents in order to cover up a $130,000 payment made out to adult movie star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

It was a rare sight to see Ivanka at the Trump Tower just a day after the verdict. In a move that underscored the gravity of the situation, she formed an alliance with her stepmother, Melania, when the news was released, a show of solidarity that was not to be taken lightly.

Putting her differences with Melania aside

It’s no secret that Ivanka and Melania have a tumultuous relationship. In a book by Katie Rogers, “American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, from Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden,” the author disclosed that the former First Lady didn’t believe that Ivanka or Trump’s other children should be involved in White House matters.

Rogers also declared that Donald triggered a competition between Trump’s daughter and wife when he asked Ivanka to share Melania’s First Lady duties, which led to a power struggle. But in the aftermath of the guilty verdict, they managed to put their differences aside.

An insider who spoke to Page Six in June 2024 called it ”a thaw in the sometimes chilly and tense relationship between Melania and Ivanka.” Following Ivanka’s lead, Melania, Trump’s wife, has also avoided the spotlight, remaining unseen during the hush money trial.

Some people explained that she was busy focusing on her son Barron as he got ready to graduate from high school. Others, however, believed that she didn’t want to tolerate listening to the details of her husband’s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels, which apparently occurred around the time that Melania gave birth to Barron in 2006.

Although there have been numerous signs that their marriage is going through a rough patch, she and the couple’s only son remained in the Trump Tower alongside Donald Trump’s other children, showing solidarity with the patriarch amid all the drama.
